RACER Video: Bench Racer with Robin Miller: Jack McGrath

When historians talk about the greatest driver never to win the Indianapolis 500, Jack McGrath's name is seldom in the conversation. But considering his track record of six front row starting spots in eight races and a couple memorable duels with Bill Vukovich, McGrath certainly deserves to be in that category. The L.A. native, who lost his life 60 years ago at Phoenix in the final Triple AAA race, had decided to retire from the dirt and just concentrate on Indianapolis – where he was also his own chief mechanic.
