Dixon edges Rossi in third Glen practice
Andretti Autosport's Alexander Rossi looked like he was going to end the third practice session as the fastest IndyCar driver, but Chip Ganassi Racing's Scott Dixon spoiled those plans on his final lap. Dixon's best of 1m22.6441s in the No. 9 Honda was barely faster than Rossi's top lap in the No. 98 Honda (+0.0220s), yet well clear of Andretti's Ryan Hunter-Reay in third (+0.4156s). Team Penske's Helio Castroneves was the fastest Chevy runner in fourth with his No. 3 entry (+0.5879s) and Dale Coyne Racing's Sebastien Bourdais, who closed the session with a harmless half-spin and stall, completed the top five in his No. 18 Honda (+0.5965s).
