AJ Foyt Racing set for Chevrolet switch
The iconic Foyt brand will be ditching Honda to join Chevrolet for next year’s Verizon IndyCar Series, but remains in negotiations with engineers and drivers. After a month of speculation over which teams – if any – would switch from the HPD units to those produced by Ilmor for Chevrolet, Foyt’s team earlier this week was confirmed as the only Honda team that was wavering. Finally, though, team president Larry Foyt has conceded one comment on the record: “Nothing’s signed yet, but we’re headed in that direction.” It will mark the first time that the team has run Chevy engines since 2005.
