INDYCAR: Castroneves starts fast at Sonoma
Helio Castroneves opened this weekend’s IndyCar season finale by topping the times in the first practice session at Sonoma Raceway on Friday morning. The Team Penske driver produced his 1m17.3298s with his fourth lap, upon which he immediately returned to the pits for the rest of the session. His fleeting appearance was in keeping with many Chevy’s other big guns: teammates Simon Pagenaud, Will Power and Juan Pablo Montoya only completed five, four and eight laps, respectively, while Ganassi’s Scott Dixon did 9 and Tony Kanaan 12.
