First turn crash takes out contenders in GP of Indy
Scott Dixon and Josef Newgarden were among those who suffered damage as cars scattered. Last year it was a standing start that gave the Verizon IndyCar Series drivers trouble at the start when pole-sitter Sebastian Saavedra stalled on the grid. This year, it was a rolling start that gave drivers issues as they battled for position into turn one. Outside polesitter Scott Dixon made contact with Helio Castroneves, who was on his inside as they went into the braking zone at the end of the front stretch.
