After his time at Panther Racing came to an abrupt end in 2013, JR Hildebrand spent three seasons trying to earn a second chance in the Verizon IndyCar Series. Wednesday morning, entering his home race at Sonoma, he learned part-time teammate Spencer Pigot will take over his No. 21 Ed Carpenter Racing Chevy in 2018.
