Rahal Honda tops Belle Isle opening practice

The first shot fired after the Indy 500 belonged to Honda and Graham Rahal as the Ohio native set the fastest lap during opening Verizon IndyCar Series practice in Detroit. The No. 15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driver (1m15.3328s) led the Team Penske Chevy entries of Helio Castroneves (+0.1562s) and Josef Newgarden (+0.2056s), Andretti Autosport's Alexander Rossi (+0.3888s) and Penske's Will Power (+0.4831s), who completed the top five.
