Juan Pablo Montoya to compete in 2017 Indianapolis 500 with Penske

Juan Pablo Montoya has accepted an offer to compete in the Indianapolis 500 with Penske on a one-race deal, having been dropped from the team's line-up in favour of Josef Newgarden. The Colombian will not compete in the IndyCar Series next year after being replaced by Newgarden, but has accepted an offer to race a fifth Penske entry during the next edition of the Indianapolis 500, team president Tim Cindric confirmed to Autosport.  'I'm pleasantly surprised that he took the Indy-only offer,' commented Cindric. 'We were really honest with each other about what our different goals were and for a period it didn't align but I think this is a good situation for both of us....
