Pagenaud victorious at Phoenix

– Simon Pagenaud took advantage of a timely caution to capture the lead and hold on for victory at Phoenix on Saturday night. The defending series champion stayed out a lap longer than the other frontrunners on the second round of pit stops, putting him a lap ahead of the entire field when the caution came out for an incident involving Takuma Sato.The extra lap gifted him a free pit stop, a lead which he never relinquished on the first oval of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar season.
