INDYCAR: Texas announces perks for race restart

The completion of the Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway, set for Aug. 27 following its June 12 suspension after 71 laps, will provide a variety of unique benefits for attending fans, track officials announced. The remaining 177 race laps on the 1.455-mile oval are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. ET Aug. 27 and will air live on NBCSN and the Advance Auto Parts INDYCAR Radio Network. The "Restart Your Engines" schedule will begin with a Verizon IndyCar Series practice session at 5:30 p.m. ET and include an all-driver autograph session on the main concourse at 6:30 p.m. The 248-lap event was originally scheduled as the ninth race of the 2016 season, on the evening of June 11.
