INDY 500: 100th entry list reveals youthful trend

The turnover in drivers entered for last year's 99th Indy 500 and this year's 100th race reveals a shift toward youth. Those who competed in 2015 but are not entered for the 2016 race include Andretti Autosport's Simona de Silvestro, Chip Ganassi Racing's Ryan Briscoe and Sebastien Saavedra, Dale Coyne Racing's James Davison, Tristan Vautier, and Carlos Huertas, Schmidt Peterson Motorsports' James Jakes, Stefano Coletti, and the late Justin Wilson, who drove for Andretti Autosport. The combined average age of those eight during the 2015 Indy 500 was 27.5 and their ages ranged from 23-36.
