Pagenaud escapes penalty to win Long Beach

– Simon Pagenaud avoided a late-race penalty to win the legendary Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, arguably IndyCar's second-biggest event behind the Indianapolis 500. Scott Dixon looked poised to jump polesitter Hélio Castroneves for victory on his final pit stop, but an extended stint by Pagenaud allowed the Frenchman to get in front, and he never looked back.The win is the fifth of his career and his first at Team Penske, but it wasn't without controversy.
