Castroneves quickest in race trim at Phoenix
IndyCar’s evening session at PIR ended much as qualifying did: with Team Penske-Chevrolet driver Helio Castroneves at the top of the time sheets, and Chevy power locking Honda horses out of the Top 10. Castroneves was just 0.0031sec faster than teammate Juan Montoya with a best lap speed of 186.293mph. Ed Carpenter Racing again looked fast with third and seventh fastest for Josef Newgarden and Ed Carpenter, with Scott Dixon topping the Ganassi quartet with fourth fastest.
