Newgarden crash caused by cut tire
Firestone has confirmed to Motorsport.com that a cut tire was the cause of Josef Newgarden's airborne accident. INDIANAPOLIS - After speculation that the Chevrolets may be a bit too loose and is causing their drivers to lose control, Firestone has confirmed to Motorsport.com that Josef Newgarden's Thursday spin was caused by a cut tire. "In working with CFH Racing, and after reviewing the data, our conclusion is that that tire lost inflation pressure due to running over debris," said Dale Harrigle, Chief Engineer and Manager of Race Tire Development.
