Penske, SPM to lead 2018 bodykit development

RACER has learned testing of the new-for-2018 universal bodywork will be conducted by Team Penske on behalf of Chevy, and Schmidt Peterson Motorsports for Honda. Two-time Indy 500 winner Juan Pablo Montoya will handle driving duties for the Bowtie and IndyCar veteran Oriol Servia will perform the same role for Honda Performance Development. Under the agreement, both drivers will report directly to IndyCar throughout the three-month process.The testing plan, crafted by the Verizon IndyCar Series' competition department, will span four tracks, starting with the Indianapolis Motors Speedway beginning July 25.
