Veach to stand in for injured Hildebrand

– Ed Carpenter Racing has announced that Zach Veach will make his IndyCar Series debut at this weekend's Grand Prix of Alabama, replacing the injured J.R. Hildebrand.Hildebrand, who broke a bone in his left hand in a final-lap incident at the Grand Prix of Long Beach earlier this month, underwent surgery on April 11 and continues to recover.Veach, a six-time race winner in Indy Lights, will thus take over the ECR seat at Barber Motorsports Park, though Hildebrand still plans to attend to event and offer advice.Veach was already confirmed for this year's Indianapolis 500 with A.
