INDYCAR: Ganassi set for Honda deal

One of the most successful combinations in IndyCar history is reuniting, as RACER can report that Chip Ganassi's team will be powered by Honda in the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series. Ganassi, whose team went from relative obscurity to CART champions four consecutive years (1996-'99) with Honda, is expected to make the official announcement his team is leaving Chevrolet within 24-48 hours. Ganassi, who also campaigns Chevys in NASCAR, rebuked the possibility of changing manufacturers when asked by RACER last month at Watkins Glen and team manager Mike Hull could not be reached for comment on Thursday night.
