IndyCar to use standard aero kit in 2018

– IndyCar has announced a freeze on the development of aero kits for manufacturers Chevrolet and Honda in 2017, and intends to introduce a standard kit for 2018.IndyCar introduced aero kits for competitive use in 2015, with bodywork components designed and supplied by Chevrolet and Honda for road/street courses, and a separate kit for ovals.IndyCar chief Jay Frye is optimistic that the decision to use a standard kit in 2018 will entice new manufacturers to enter the category."This is an integral component to IndyCar's long-term plan to continue to produce the highest quality of on-track competition while also positioning ourselves to add additional engine manufacturers," he...
