INDYCAR: Banner day for Dale Coyne Racing
Life was good at Dale Coyne Racing last weekend. Following the recent loss of DCR Indy 500 driver Bryan Clauson and two unfulfilling races at Pocono and Texas, the scrappy Illinois-based program entered Watkins Glen in dire need of positivity, and it was certainly delivered by its young chargers. RC Enerson, a kid making his second IndyCar start, qualified inside the Firestone Fast 12, raced inside the top six and came home ninth, and Conor Daly, the other DCR rookie, showed his typical grit while overcoming a crash in practice and a poor qualifying result while fighting from 17th to claim fourth at the finish line.
