Kaiser leads Urrutia in Indy Lights practice
Juncos Racing’s Kyle Kaiser hit the top spot at Watkins Glen as he set an average speed of 129.845mph around the 3.37-mile road course. Kaiser’s 1min33.4343sec lap was enough to put him fewer than six-hundredths faster than Schmidt Peterson Motorsport ace and championship leader Santiago Urrutia, who led his teammate Andre Negrao by 0.3sec. Carlin Racing’s Ed Jones was relying on his Practice 1 laptime in the combined practice times, falling one second short of his morning lap. Others who were quicker in the morning than afternoon were Zach Veach (Belardi Auto Racing), Dean Stoneman and Shelby Blackstock (Andretti Autosport) who finished sixth, seventh and 12th in the 12-car field.
