INDYCAR: Pagenaud wins Penske's 500th pole

Simon Pagenaud took another step forward in his Verizon IndyCar Series championship charge by claimed his fifth pole position of the season for Sunday's Iowa Corn 300 at Iowa Speedway. His feat also marked Team Penske's 500th pole in major league racing. Tony Kanaan, who paced this morning's practice session, set the early pace in his Chip Ganassi NTT Data Dallara-Chevrolet, but the Penske cars then surged forward, with Helio Castroneves and then Pagenaud coming out on top. Pagenaud's 185.855mph two-lap average was 0.4mph quicker than Castroneves. Then on came Josef Newgarden. Despite being handicapped by his broken clavicle and wrist, the Ed Carpenter Racing driver was just 0.04s off...
