Davison fourth best as Munoz tops Indy practice

Colombian driver Carlos Munoz has become the first driver to crack 230mph after topping the third practice session in preparation for the Indianapolis 500 on May 24. Munoz completed a searching evaluation in his #26 Andretti Autosport Honda, finishing with a best lap of 230.121mph (370.34km/h). Townsend Bell, running in the #24 The Robert Graham Special Chevrolet was second fastest in 228.96 (368.48) ahead of Ganassi’s Tony Kanaan who clocked 228.17 (367.20). Australian James Davison did a super job behind the wheel of the #19 Dale Coyne entry, ending the six-hour session fourth fastest in 228.04 (366.99) after putting 88 laps in the books.
