Robert Wickens sustained multiple injuries in Pocono crash

Robert Wickens sustained multiple injuries in a horrific crash at Pocono Raceway during the early laps of Sunday's ABC Supply 500. Wickens touched with Ryan Hunter-Reay from the inside of Turn 2 pitching the American's #28 Andretti Autosport DHL car around and Wickens was lifted onto the SAFER barrier which led to him sliding into the catch fencing destroying his #6 SPM machine. The Canadian driver has broken both legs, right arm and has further injuries to his spine as well as bruising a lung. IndyCar communications chief Curt Cavin confirmed that Wickens was 'awake and alert' when brought to the medical centre where he was then transported to the nearby Lehigh Valley...
