Newgarden to test windscreen at IMS

Team Penske's Josef Newgarden will help the Verizon IndyCar Series conduct the second test of the cockpit windscreen it has developed to increase driver protection. Following the windscreen's maiden outing in February on the ISM Raceway short oval in Phoenix with Chip Ganassi Racing's Scott Dixon, the device created by IndyCar's technical department will undergo its first laps at speeds well in excess of 200mph at the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "We're planning to run it with Josef at the end of Monday's open test on April 30th," Frye told RACER.
