Bourdais eager for race return after Mid-Ohio test

Sebastien Bourdais is convinced he will be ready to return to competition in the next few weeks after driving an IndyCar for the first time since suffering serious injuries in a huge accident at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in May. Bourdais turned more than 80 laps at Mid-Ohio on Monday, just 72 days after suffering multiple fractures to his hip and pelvis when he crashed his Dale Coyne Racing car during a qualifying run ahead of the Indianapolis 500. Monday's test was an opportunity to check how well Bourdais could tolerate the physical demands of the car, and the Frenchman told IndyCar.com that the outing had been a success.
