INDYCAR: Hildebrand lands ECR drive

JR Hildebrand is expected to be confirmed as Josef Newgarden's replacement at Ed Carpenter Racing.The 28-year-old Californian will step into the No. 21 Chevy that Newgarden piloted to three victories and a fourth-place finish in the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series championship.The move has been verified by sources with immediate knowledge of the deal, and Carpenter told RACER that his team is preparing to confirm its plans for the seat. "We're going to make our announcement on the 21 car tomorrow," he said.
