It might have taken a vintage Scott Dixon fuel-saving effort late in the race, but the defending series champion completed a dominant weekend at Watkins Glen by parlaying outright speed and brilliant strategy into a victory. After topping all but one session throughout the weekend, it might have seemed inevitable that Dixon would wind up on the top step of the podium. The result, though, was in doubt until Dixon masterfully stretched his fuel to the end of the race for his second victory of the season.
