Bourdais steals Detroit Race 1 from Daly, Penske

– Sébastien Bourdias sprung a late-race surprise on the leading trio of Penske cars to win at Detroit for the second year in a row, building a massive cushion prior to his last pit stop before pitting unchallenged.For much of the race it looked to be a three-way fight between polesitter Simon Pagenaud and his team-mates Hélio Castroneves and Juan Pablo Montoya, but as the three fought amongst themselves, an off-strategy call by Bourdais' KV Racing team saw him leading rookie Conor Daly by 23 seconds with fewer than 20 laps to go.Daly, who had also gone onto an alternative strategy, watched as Bourdais pitted ahead of him and came out in second place, but the young American then...
