INDY 500: Pagenaud seeks answers for penalty

Simon Pagenaud is seeking an explanation for the penalty that sent him to the back of the field during Sunday's Indianapolis 500. The Team Penske driver was relegated to the back of the field for a pitlane violation, but told RACER that he and the team are struggling to understand what it was for. "I wish I knew [what the penalty was for] and I wish the team knew as well," he said. "I heard rumors that it might be because of the pitstops – [Alexander] Rossi's mechanic left his pit gun on the race track, so I had to swing more, but I did it on the slow lane so that I didn't hit the mechanic.
