INDY 500: Honda, Chevy split top speeds
Chevy's Will Power had the fastest lap of the day and Honda's Townsend Bell turned the quickest lap with no tow on Friday, so it could be an interesting weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The fastest nine runners will be determined Saturday and then battle for the pole position during Sunday's Fast Nine Shootout on ABC from 5:00-5:45 p.m. ET. In a week dominated by Honda-powered drivers, Power pushed the Bowtie Brigade to the top spot with a lap of 232.672mph in the Verizion Special – just a fraction faster than the Chevy of Josef Newgarden at 232.344mph for Ed Carpenter Racing.
