INDY 500: Strong showings for Coyne, Andretti

The Honda teams of Dale Coyne Racing and Andretti Autosport showed the way Thursday during practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Gabby Chaves, hired for the month of May and hoping to turn it into a full-time seat, turned the fastest lap of 227.961mph early in the afternoon and it stayed No. 1 all day. Townsend Bell, a May-only driver in one of Andretti's five cars, was close behind Chaves with a circuit of 227.593mph, while Conor Daly threw in a 227.542mph in another Coyne car. Charlie Kimball was the quickest of the Chevy runners at 227.477mph and Juan Pablo Montoya had a 227.367mph with his Bowtie power.
