The defending GP Indy race-winner was the only driver to cut under the 70-second barrier around the IMS road course and thus put the #12 Team Penske-Chevrolet entry at the top of the time sheets. Interestingly, Power's nearest competitors – Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing-Honda’s Graham Rahal and Power’s Team Penske teammate Juan Pablo Montoya – were the drivers who joined him on the podium at this track last year.
