INDYCAR announce rule and procedure amendments

INDYCAR has announced several rule and procedure amendments, which will be effective immediately ahead of the Grand Prix of Alabama. The five alternations address the Firestone Fast Six in qualifying, pit exit, the addition of backup timing and scoring data decoders as well as tyre usage during the opening practice session. The rule and procedure amendments are as follows: Segment 3 of road/street course qualifying (the Firestone Fast Six) shall consist of six minutes of guaranteed green-flag time (Rule 8.3.4.6 of the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series Rule Book).
