Power tops final practice at St. Petersburg
Will Power put the #12 Team Penske-Chevrolet into P1 in third practice, but again AJ Foyt Racing and Honda in general looked strong. The 2014 champion lapped the 1.8-mile course in 60.8965sec, an average speed of 106.410mph, but his closest challenge, less than 0.1sec behind, was Jack Hawksworth in the AJ Foyt Racing-Honda. Juan Pablo Montoya, Helio Castroneves and Simon Pagenaud made it four Penskes in the top seven places, despite Pagenaud spinning down an escape road. Graham Rahal in the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing-Honda was fourth fastest while a resurgent Josef Newgarden grabbed sixth after a quiet Friday for the Ed Carpenter Racing driver.
