IndyCar boosts Push-To-Pass power in 2016

IndyCar has approved an increase in the Push-To-Pass feature to help overtaking on road and street circuits next season. The change will see the turbocharger boost pressure rise from 160 kilopascals (kPa) to 165 which will see a 20bhp gain for the Chevrolet and Honda 2.2 litre engines. Boost pressure under normal conditions on the street and road courses will remain at 150 kPa. The net amount of extra horsepower (60) for the push-to-pass function over the 11 road and street circuits is nearly double that of 2015.
