INDYCAR: Andretti, Munoz, Hinchcliffe relish Phoenix challenge after testing

Marco Andretti didn’t predict an assault on Arie Luyendyk’s 20-year-old record lap at Phoenix International Raceway during next April's Phoenix Grand Prix, but it was understood during a manufacturer test at the track on Wednesday. Luyendyk holds the track-record lap of 19.068 seconds (183.599mph), set during qualifications for the March 1996 Indy car race. "I actually ran here at PIR in 2012, so I ran the new configuration [after the repaving] and I think we ran pretty conservative with a lot of downforce then. Today, we're starting to peel some off.
