IndyCar reveals extended 2016 calendar
– IndyCar has published an extended, 16-round calendar for 2016, which runs five weeks longer than the previous season and features new events in Phoenix, Road America and Boston.The action will again kick off with the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 13, two weeks earlier than 2014, and conclude at Sonoma Raceway on September 18, as opposed to late August.Phoenix International Raceway is the first of the new circuits to feature as the second round in early April, before races at Long Beach and Barber Motorsports Park later in the month.May features both the Grand Prix of Indianapolis and 100th running of the Indianapolis 500.Detroit hosts the double-header on the first weekend...
