INDYCAR: Pigot unlikely to test before new year

Spencer Pigot is unlikely to get his hands on a Rahal Letterman Lanigan IndyCar until the new year, with the team having opted to wait until it has a full 2016-spec car before using its test day allocation. The newly-crowned Indy Lights champion was earlier confirmed for a three-race deal with RLL next year as his prize for winning the Mazda Road to Indy's top tier, but team-co-owner Bobby Rahal said that the 22-year-old will be best served by spending time in a car that is the same specification as the one he will race at St Pete, the IMS road course, and the Indy 500.
