IndyCar: Summerton close to Sonoma test outing

Jonathan Summerton was one of a handful of talented Americans lost in the IndyCar and Champ Car merger, and after years of trying to find his way into the top open-wheel series, the Floridian could reach his goal on August 13 when teams test in Northern California. "We're talking to a couple of teams about testing at Sonoma next week; it would be a last-minute deal," Summerton told RACER. "I'm hoping to know by the end of this week if I we can do the full day. If not, I hope to get in for one session, at least, at the end of the day with another team we're talking to."
