PRUETT: A rising tide in IndyCar TV ratings

Nielsen rating data for the three most recent oval races on the NBC Sports Network cable channel have started to build a renewed feeling of optimism within the Verizon IndyCar Series.The wild MAVTV 500 at Auto Club Speedway, held during a friendly Saturday afternoon viewing period, produced a solid 0.37 rating which equated to an audience of 512,000 people on NBCSN. The previous oval race on the calendar, the Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway, generated an audience of 431,000, and last weekend's ABC Supply Wisconsin 250 at The Milwaukee Mile could herald a more significant and sustainable trend.
