Newgarden secures first pole at Milwaukee

driver Josef Newgarden secured his first career IndyCar pole position at Milwaukee (170.223mph), continuing his trend of topping sessions this weekend.Newgarden's run came midway through qualifying and set a high benchmark for the field to chase, but only Ryan Briscoe could come close, just 0.2mph behind the American.The top two were the only drivers to break 170mph around the historic track; however, the field is anything but spread.
