Dumbrell aiming to lock down overseas driver
Lucas Dumbrell says his LD Motorsport V8 Supercars team is looking outside of Australia for a co-driver to partner Tim Blanchard at the Sandown, Bathurst and Gold Coast races this year. The Melbourne-based team will already have one international driver on the books for this year’s three long-distance races, with Oliver Gavin set to join Nick Percat for the second year running. The pair finished third at last year’s Bathurst 1000, the jewel in the Australian racing crown, for Walkinshaw Racing, and will this year try for more enduro success in an LD Motorsport-run Commodore.
