Ed Carpenter goes airborne, makes contact with catchfence - video

Ed Carpenter has been checked, cleared and released from the infield medical center. INDIANAPOLIS - Two-time and defending Indy 500 pole-sitter Ed Carpenter has become the third driver to go airborne during practice, this month. The co-owner of CFHR spun out of the second corner and was helpless as the rear of the car lifted off the ground and tagged the catchfence. The car came to rest on its side, very similar to the airborne accident of his teammate, Josef Newgarden. IndyCar is having to repair the fence where the rear of the Chevrolet made contact. He was very upset as he pulled himself from the wreckage with qualifying starting very shortly, throwing his helmet inside a safety...
