HPD: Two-step introduction of IndyCar hybrid rules ‘waste of time and money'
The NTT IndyCar Series' possible phased rollout of the new hybrid power unit regulations in 2022 would be a ‘waste of time and money' according to Honda Performance Development President Ted Klaus. In 2018 IndyCar set out plans to introduce hybrid regulations to the IndyCar Series alongside a new 2.4-litre twin-turbo V6 internal combustion engine, aiming to increase power output to over 900 horsepower.
