Fernando Alonso walks away from crash during practice for Indy 500

Fernando Alonso has walked away from a hefty crash at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during second practice for the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500. The Spaniard was following Graham Rahal into Turn 3, then appeared to encounter a large amount of oversteer through the corner. This led to his #66 McLaren-Chevrolet to hit and ricochet off the outside wall and then spin to the inside wall of Turn 4 causing substantial damage to his car. He eventually slid to a rest at the top of the banking for Turn 4. 'Mistake from my side underestimating the grip in T3 today. I’m sorry for the team and the guys that have to work a lot now.
