McLaren confirm Fernando Alonso's race number for Indy 500

McLaren has confirmed Fernando Alonso will race the #66 entry in the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 this season. Alonso is attempting the prestigious race for a second time in order to try and complete motorsport's unofficial 'triple crown'. His first entry in 2017 ended with an engine failure on lap 179. The #66 represents McLaren's first taste of success at the famous Brickyard from 1972 where Mark Donohue won the race from Al Unser Sr. The M16 McLaren chassis was run by Team Penske.
