Pigot escapes hard crash at Indy

Spencer Pigot suffered a hard crash just past 4:30 p.m. ET on Friday in his No. 11 Juncos Racing Chevy. The 2015 Indy Lights champion was quickly evaluated and cleared to drive. Footage of Pigot's nose-first crash into the Turn 2 did not immediately reveal the origins of the accident, but based on the odd angle of the car and impact high in the corner, it looked different than a normal spin that sends a car into the wall farther around the turn. The Ed Carpenter Racing driver, who is moonlighting with Juncos this month, could not say why the car left the racing line. "I'm not really sure yet," Pigot said.
